On July 29th, the State Council Information Office held a series of themed press conferences on promoting high-quality development. Shen Changyu, Director of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, said at the meeting that since the proposal of jointly building the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the China National Intellectual Property Administration has established and continuously improved the "the Belt and Road" intellectual property cooperation mechanism, held two sessions of the "the Belt and Road" intellectual property high-level conferences, solidly promoted cooperation and exchanges with co building countries, and achieved remarkable results.
It is understood that through the "the Belt and Road" intellectual property cooperation, Chinese enterprises have a broader development space. At present, Chinese invention patents can be directly registered and effective in Cambodia, and Laos recognizes the examination results of Chinese invention patents. China has carried out patent review highway (PPH) cooperation with 17 "the Belt and Road" partners, including Russia, Singapore, Poland, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The mutual recognition and protection project of geographical indications between China and Thailand is steadily advancing. According to statistics, from 2013 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of patent authorization in China's co construction countries is 20.0%, of which the digital core technology industry invention patents and green low-carbon technology invention patents are growing rapidly, which strongly promotes the integrated development of digital and green technologies in the "the Belt and Road" countries.
At the same time, China actively promotes exchanges and cooperation in intellectual property policy communication, personnel training, degree education, review services, protection and application with co building countries. Over 50 training courses have been held for co building countries, training more than 1200 intellectual property officials and practitioners from co building countries. The "the Belt and Road" intellectual property degree education project was launched, and more than 230 students were enrolled. 29 experts have been dispatched successively to provide support for the construction of national intellectual property capacity.
